I'm an artist in Santa Barbara, California, working in a variety of media including watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oil. I generally have both abstract & representational paintings in progress, most often inspired by the world outside my studio — the garden, the beaches down the hill, and Montecito Peak..
I feel fortunate to have longstanding painting relationships with the Lotusland Garden in Montecito, the Santa Barbara Company and the Lafond Vineyard and Winery in the Santa Ynez Valley, which was the first place I exhibited when I transitioned from film work in LA to painting in Santa Barbara. A detail of one of my wine country paintings is on their Pinot Noir label.
In recent years, I’ve spent time painting each year in a small French town near the Pyrenees, after my family and I had a serendipitous meeting with a string instrument maker who had a workshop he wasn’t using.
I grew up in the Santa Barbara foothills and started selling art at 15, which helped finance a gap year trip to Europe. I studied Illustration at California State University, Long Beach, and then received a BFA in Painting & Drawing from the University of Arizona in Tucson. I worked in feature films in LA for many years while also designing/producing furniture on the side with my husband before we returned home to SB to raise our two daughters. My paintings are in venues throughout Santa Barbara county and in personal collections in several countries.
Original Paintings, Fine Art Prints and Boxed Notecards are available at the Santa Barbara Winery Tasting Room in the Funk Zone, the Santa Barbara Company on Victoria Street, the Lotusland Garden Shop in Montecito, Seaside Makers Collective on State Street and in Carpinteria, and the Lafond Vineyard Tasting Room in Buellton.
